The Houston Museum of natural science is one such place with permanent exhibits, spanning astronomy, space science, Native American culture, and much more.
The Houston Museum of natural science, founded in 1909 is one of the most heavily attended museums in the United States. It maintains two satellite facilities: the George Observatory and the Houston Museum of natural science at sugar land. The George Observatory is in fort bend county and houses one of the largest public telescopes in the country, while the HMNS at sugar land exhibits information on dinosaurs and physics.
HMNS for Beginning Memorial Day weekend is open between 27 May 2022 and 14 September 2022. The weekly timings are from 9 am to 6 pm with the last entry only at 5:30 pm. Note that Thursdays are free with extended timings from 5 pm to 8 pm, with the last entry at 7:30 pm.
If planning the visit for permanent exhibitions here, it will take an average of 2 hours. It is open during above mentioned hours.
There are days with special exhibitions, and these require additional tickets. Special exhibitions are open to the public during the mentioned hours and mainly deal with a specific topic. It will take around 45 minutes to cover everything here.
Giant screen theatre is another main attraction you just can’t miss. It is open between 11 am and 6 pm the whole week. You need to ensure your entry before the last show at 5 pm as late entry is not allowed. The duration of each show is 45 minutes, hence, plan the visit accordingly.
Timings for the planetarium are from 10 am to 6 pm, the full week. Most of the shows have a duration of 20 minutes with the last show at 5 pm with no late entry.
Butterfly center starts its entry from 10 am until 5:30 pm and remains open till 6 pm. if you have planned to visit every attraction here at HMNS then the best day to visit this place is Thursday. This is because Thursday’s timings are extended up to 8:00 pm with the last entry at 7:30 pm. you need around 25-35 minutes to walk through the butterfly center.

The regular time for this place is from 10 am to 5 pm between Thursday and Sunday.
